Glasgow City Cup – International Youth Football Tournament

The Glasgow City Cup has been running since the year 2001. Coaches from local Clubs decided that the West of Scotland needed a strong Youth Football Tournament for both Scottish and Foreign Teams and so the Tournament was born.The Glasgow City Cup is an Independant Tournament hosted by Local Clubs and is not an SYFA Organised Event.

The Tournament started in 2001 following the participation of Clubs in the USA Cup and they came back with a view that Glasgow and the West of Scotland could benefit from a similar style football tournament and the idea was born. In conjunction with Glasgow City Council the first event was held at Glasgow Green in the summer of 2001.
